The pretty village of Newton-by-the-Sea has a glorious sandy beach, ideal for surfing and windsurfing. Take the coastal path past the ancient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle with breath-taking views across Embleton Bay or, enjoy the scenic coastal walk to Craster. This is an excellent area for nature-lovers and birdwatchers, with Newton Pool Nature Reserve nearby. Take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the birds on the Farne Islands. Golfers can try their hand at the exceptional 18-hole Dunstanburgh Castle Golf course, or you can all picnic at Embleton Bay. Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle and Gardens are an easy drive from here or head a little further to cross the causeway to Holy Island for a memorable day out.
On entering this bright and comfortable holiday home you will find yourself in the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is an ideal space to relax in with two comfortable, leather sofas, a Smart TV/DVD so you can snuggle up and enjoy a movie. Share a home-made family meal in the charming dining area, and you will find the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is also a ground-floor WC. Heading up to the first floor, there are two comfortable bedrooms; a double room and a twin room. The spacious shower room has a shower and WC.
Stepping outside, there’s a south-west facing decked area with comfortable outdoor furniture, which makes a great sheltered sun-trap, allowing you to admire unspoilt rural views by day and look up into the night sky for some spectacular stargazing. You will also have access to a host of shared facilities including a children’s outdoor play area with swings, slide and climbing frame. Parking for one car is next to the lodge with further free parking area nearby if needed.
