Seahouses is an attractive and popular seaside village on the Northumberland coast that is home to a golden, sandy  beach, beautiful coastal paths, a golf course with panoramic coastal views and a wide range of village amenities. Make the most of the easy access to boat trips for the Farne Islands – a stunning nature reserve favoured by puffins, grey seals and a seabird sanctuary. There are several, friendly pubs within a mile of the cottage and a local supermarket where you can buy your extra supplies too. Just 30 minutes' drive away is Alnwick Castle where some of the Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes were filmed. Alnwick castle is one of Britain's most iconic castles and dates back to 1309. The castle was built by the Percy family who still inhabit the edifice today. Guests can also visit nearby Bamburgh. This quaint village has Bamburgh castle as a beautiful backdrop and has plenty of good pubs and great restaurants is well worth a visit. Cockle cottage has easy access to the coastal paths.

The cottage is approached along a paved path that is set back from the road. Enter through the front door to a hallway and guests will find a cloakroom complete with shower and WC. The hallway then leads into an open-plan lounge and dining area with ample seating, including two comfortable sofas set around the wood burner-effect electric fire which you can curl up in front of on an evening and watch the Smart TV. In the dining area, guests will find a table with seating for up to four guests to enjoy home-cooked meals. The kitchen is spacious and features everything a family needs, including an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Taking the stairs up to the first floor, guests will discover two tastefully furnished bedrooms all with a subtle,  nautical theme. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, double wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and WC. The second bedroom is a twin. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and WC on the first floor of the cottage.

Outside the property, there is a rear patio-style garden on two levels, enclosed by a fence. This private garden includes a patio area with outdoor furniture. There is allocated off-road parking for two cars at the cottage.

A warm and snug house within a short walk to the shops, restaurants, harbour and coastal path. There was a lovely welcome pack and message and the information folder was very useful. This cottage is just lovely. It is so close to the coastal path. It is well equipped (tea towels, washing up liquid, dog bowls, blankets etc).. safe garden for the dogs too! The beds are comfortable and it's warm / good heating for cold days. No pets upstairs which is a bit tricky with an open staircase but all good. We recommend it
