The lovely village of Bamburgh is just a 10 minute drive away, her you can visit the historic Bamburgh Castle, once home to the Kings of Northumbria. You can also visit the inspiring RNLI Grace Darling Museum, or St Aidan’s Church, whose roots go back to the 7th century. Bamburgh is famous for its three miles of wonderful sandy beach as well as a choice of shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. A mile away is the pretty village of Lucker, and there are several other castles nearby including Dunstanburgh and Warkworth. You can take boat trips to Holy Island or to the bird sanctuaries on the Farne Islands and Budle Bay is also ideal for bird-watchers. The cottage is ideally located to enjoy lovely rural walks, cycle rides and days at the beach, by night enjoy dinner under the stars in the private garden with rural views.
